How does air conditioning work?
Air conditioning works in a split system, with an indoor and outdoor unit.
The indoor unit is placed fairly high within the room to ensure even and consistent air flow. It’s also responsible for filtering pollen and allergens from the air as it draws in air from the room, and replaces it with “conditioned air” from outside.
The outdoor unit takes away the heat from the indoor unit and releases it outside. The unit also contains the condenser, coil and refrigerant, so all of the noisier tasks are outside the home, unlike all-in-one portable air conditioners.
